Preview foreign exchange rates in advance of submitting payment instructions

Dear HSBCnet User,

Previously, exchange rates have only been available when using the Get Rate service during the final authorisation of a payment transaction. From the months of July and August 2015, HSBCnet Users will receive access to preview foreign exchange rates prior to submitting payment transactions for authorisation. This service is available on the following payment types*:

  • Priority Payment
  • Inter Account Transfer
  • Customer Transfer

The Preview exchange rates feature enhances your cash management capabilities by determining exchange rates prior to preparing the payment instruction. This will allow you to submit payments when foreign exchange rates are likely to be optimal.

Existing users of HSBCnet’s Get Rate service have been granted access to the Preview exchange rates service provided they have existing payment entitlements. Users must:

  • be entitled to ‘Enquire’ on the debit accounts of the payment types
  • ensure the debit account currency is different from the payment currency
  • submit a payment amount (or equivalent) within the Get Rate ‘Per transaction’ limit

Your HSBCnet Team
