When the appointment is booked, you will be provided the name of the HSBC representative that will facilitate the on-site training.Important note: upon the arrival of the HSBC representative at your office, the individual will present HSBC identification and you will be asked to call the HSBCnet Support Centre to further verify the identity of the HSBC representative before the session begins.
While HSBCnet uses multiple layers of protection to enhance your security, here are a few reminders for safeguarding your online banking activity:
- HSBC will never ask you to enter or confirm your security details through an e-mail or to “download” material through links in our e-mails. If you are suspicious of an e-mail that claims to come from HSBC, please forward it to hsbcnet.phishing@hsbc.com.
- We will never request information that could be used to make a payment (such as account numbers, passwords, security device details other than the serial number on the back, etc). As a precaution, always take the extra step of verifying any requests through an alternative communication method.
- Under no circumstances will HSBC ever ask you to divulge any of your security details in-person, over the phone, by text message or via e-mail.
- We strongly suggest you regularly update your operating system, browser, firewall and anti-virus/malware protection software to ensure you receive the benefit of the latest security patches/updates.
- If you have not already done so, install anti-virus software and update it with the latest virus definition files. Note: HSBCnet has made available Webroot SecureAnywhere software at no charge to customers. To download and install this software, log on to HSBCnet and select the Webroot information in the Service Updates section of your HSBCnet landing page.
If you are ever doubtful about your HSBCnet activities or the authenticity of contact from an individual purporting to be from HSBC, please call your local HSBCnet Support Centre or your HSBC representative for further verification.
Sincerely,
Your HSBCnet team
