Important changes coming in September
Several new enhancements will be introduced to HSBCnet over the weekend of 14/15 September delivering more convenience to your banking experience. Changes include the first phase in revamping our HSBCnet Help Text services making it even easier to connect to the support material you need, where and when you need it. Be sure to read on to determine how your use of HSBCnet may be improved.
HSBCnet User Tip: Minimise errors by using "Search" to identify Beneficiary bank details
When creating a payment please use the “Search” facility to locate and populate the “bank name” and “bank address” fields under the Beneficiary bank details section. Using the “Search” facility to automatically populate the required fields ensures that only valid information, recognisable by HSBCnet systems (e.g. BIC code) is retrieved and entered. Manual entries (typing in the beneficiary bank name and address using free text) can often trigger processing errors in the backend causing delays or making it necessary to repair the instruction.
How to use the “Search” facility:
1.)
2.)
3.)Customers with UK debit accounts: redirected Faster Payments using Seven Day Account Switching service In September 2013 UK banks are introducing an enhanced Account Switching service for personal and micro-enterprise customers, which sets a clear timescale of seven working days to migrate all Direct Debit mandates, Standing Order instructions and details of bill payments from the Old Bank to the New Bank - enabling a seamless transition for customers. As well as this initial process, the industry is introducing redirection and forwarding of payments/Direct Debits to ensure that the customer continues to have access to all their banking services. The redirection/forwarding will take place for 13 months from the date of the Account Switch.
HSBCnet supports the advising of Redirected payments for Faster Payments created via HSBCnet File Upload through a new report “Advice of Redirected Faster Payments” via Report File Download (RFD) and Automated File Download (AFD) services.
Report specificationAdditionally, the existing HSBCnet Faster payments SIPS (Single Immediate Payment) report will be enhanced to include the switched Beneficiary account information for Faster payments created via HSBCnet screens.
