China accounts: new balance of payment fields available from 9 December 2019

Starting 9 December 2019, Priority Payments created using HSBCnet’s Payments service will feature a new ‘Additional details’ section where you can include all of the information for the balance of payment (BOP) form directly in the payment instruction. When you submit balance of payment information in HSBCnet payment screens, you’ll no longer need to attach the BOP form or provide a physical copy.

What does this mean for me?

Priority Payment screens will automatically include this new section for foreign currency and cross-border payments from your HSBC China accounts.

The ‘Additional details’ fields will be available when:

Domestic BoP fields

International BoP fields

Debit account and currency

FCY HSBC China account

CNY HSBC China account

Beneficiary bank location

China

Outside of China

Payment currency

Here’s what the new ‘Additional details’ section will look like:*

If you want to attach the same BOP form you currently use instead of using the new payment fields, select ‘Additional details’ when asked ‘Are you providing balance of payment details?’. You can then continue to create your payment the same way you do now.

If you use HSBCnet’s File Upload service or HSBC Connect, there will be no changes to how you submit these payments.

* The ‘Transaction remarks‘ field will not be displayed if you’ve selected the Domestic BOP option.
