UK account holders: NGN currency payments to Nigeria no longer availableLast updated: 2 May 2019 Effective 1 April 2019, HSBC in the UK is no longer able to send Nigerian Naira (NGN) remittances to beneficiaries in Nigeria. All remittances to beneficiaries in Nigeria must be sent in GBP or other accepted currencies (eg. USD). Any payments from UK accounts submitted in NGN currency after 1 April are being rejected.
