For customers using SWIFTNet FileAct and SWIFTNet InterAct: SWIFTNet 7.2 Upgrade‎

Last updated: 20 November 2017

As you may already be aware, SWIFT has announced a requirement to upgrade to SWIFTNet version 7.2.

Why should I upgrade?

As is the case for all SWIFT members, HSBC will also upgrade to SWIFTNet 7.2.  This upgrade will provide a highly secure and efficient service.

SWIFT has already mandated that all connecting systems must be running on at least SWIFT 7.0.50.  Therefore, if not done so already, you should also upgrade your systems to the minimum supported version (7.0.50).

Systems using the real-time SWIFTNet FileAct service that are not running on the minimum supported version will be unable to exchange files with other SWIFT members once they upgrade to version 7.2.

What should I do?

HSBC plans to upgrade to SWIFTNet 7.2 between June and July 2018‎.

If your systems do not already meet the miminmum SWIFT upgrade guidelines, it is recommended that you engage with your SWIFT ‎contact or vendor in order to ensure no disruption or degradation to service.
