For customers with Trade accounts in the UK: Get Rate service for Internet Trade Services (ITS) transactions

Since April 2017, Get Rate has been automatically available for Internet Trade Services (ITS) transactions for your accounts in the UK. Review the following information to help better understand how to use the Get Rate feature for your ITS transactions.

Get Rate helps you to book Foreign Exchange (FX) rates for your trade transactions online, allowing you to view and instantly confirm or reject FX rates while authorising an Import Bill Transaction, Import Finance, Pre-Shipment Finance and Post-Shipment Finance transaction in ITS.

Get Rate is simple to use and appears automatically for eligible individual ITS transactions at the final stage of authorisation.

What ITS transactions are eligible for Get Rate?

The following criteria apply for Get Rate eligible ITS transaction:

  • Either the Debit/Credit account or Loan currency must be in Pound Sterling (GBP).

  • Value dated for the next one to two business days following payment approval.

Instructions with same-day value date (today), or future-dated three or more days after approval, are not eligible for Get Rate.

Your transaction value date also determines the currency availability. For questions regarding specific currency availability (e.g. CNY is only available for transactions that are value dated two business days from today), please contact your Global Trade and Receivables Finance (GTRF) Client Services representative or your local HSBCnet Support Centre.

  • Must be at the stage of final authorisation.

  • You must authorise instructions individually. Get Rate for ITS is not offered for ‘bulk authorisation’ (e.g. Select all > Authorise selected).

  • Get Rate is offered for ITS transaction amounts up to 1,000,000 GBP.

  • The service is available Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm GMT (excluding public holidays in the UK and country of the FX currency).
