Update to the logon process for customers in Mexico

Dear HSBCnet User,

Effective 4 June 2016, as part of a regulatory requirement introduced by Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores (CNVB) indicated in the General Decree applicable to Credit Institutions, customers with profiles domiciled in Mexico will be required to enter additional security information during the logon process to HSBCnet and HSBCnet Mobile.

As of 4 June 2016, after entering your Username, the new logon screen will require you to enter your Memorable answer and three random characters of your Password. After this step your will be required to use your security device to complete the logon process to HSBCnet.

In preparation for the new logon process, we recommend that you update and remember all of your Security Information.To update your User Security Information, follow the below steps:

  1. Log into HSBCnet and select your name at the top of the screen.

  1. On the ‘Edit My Profile’ page select the Security Details tab.

  1. Update all of your security information with confidential details you can ensure to remember.

  2. Select the Submit button and follow the on-screen instructions to authenticate yourself with your security device.

Please note, during your first logon to HSBCnet after this new process has been enabled for your company, you will automatically be required to reset your Memorable question and answer. If you are logging in via HSBCnet Mobile you will be presented with the following error:

"Please log on full desktop service to change your Memorable Answer before logging on Mobile. You will be guided to do that while logging on full desktop service."
