Customers with profiles in Panama: important changes to your HSBCnet access
In 2013, HSBC agreed to sell its business operations in Panama to Bancolombia, a Colombia-based bank. On 25 October 2013 (or a future date to be confirmed – pending to regulatory approval), HSBC’s operations in Panama will be officially transferred to Bancolombia, including all local accounts and system infrastructure.
As a result of this sale, access to your HSBCnet profile and accounts in this country will change on the effective date. Your HSBC representative is in the process of communicating with your company’s primary HSBCnet contact to discuss the next steps for your organisation however, below is an overview.
Customers domiciled in Panama:
If your organisation only has accounts in Panama your organisation should have already received instructions on the consolidation of the electronic banking channels and signing up for local Business Internet Banking platform. Your electronic banking needs will be served exclusively by the local entity through this platform. As a reminder: access to HSBCnet for customers domiciled in Panama-only will be suspended on 30 September 2013.
However, if your organisation is domiciled in Panama with accounts in Panama as well as other countries, your organisation may choose to continue using HSBCnet by opening a new HSBCnet profile in one of the countries where HSBC will remain present. Using this new profile, you may continue to access your current HSBC accounts and services on HSBCnet even after the transfer of operations to Bancolombia.
As instructed in previous communications, your organisation must work with your HSBC representative to create a new HSBCnet profile if you wish to continue using HSBCnet. If not, you will need to sign-up for the local Business Internet Banking platform to maintain access to your accounts in Panama after 30 September 2013. This communication does not override the ones already received locally in Panama.
If you have any further questions regarding the transition of your HSBC services, you may also contact your HSBC representative.
Sincerely,
Your HSBCnet Team
