Thailand accounts: ISO 20022 payment changes are coming soon

Last updated: 16 October 2024

As we’ve previously communicated, we’re introducing updated HSBCnet payment screens for cross-border payments from HSBC Thailand accounts. As a reminder, the enhanced screens with ISO 20022 features are being rolled out from 7 October 2024.

What this means for you

Structured address fields for cross-border payments from accounts in Thailand are being introduced to HSBCnet payment screens in a phased manner starting 7 October 2024.

You can learn more about the new ISO 20022 enhancements in the links below:

We recommend that you review and update your payments and templates as soon as the enhanced screens become available to you. Please note that some fields will be mandatory.

Make sure you review your restricted templates

If you have any restricted templates, you may not be able to use this template for payment creation after the effective date. We strongly recommend that you review your existing templates and plan to either create a new template or modify the existing template as soon as the enhanced screen becomes available. This will help to make sure you can continue to use your payment templates.

Please note that in existing templates, the beneficiary address will appear pre-filled in the ‘Non-standard beneficiary address’ section. You will need to modify existing restricted templates by replacing any unstructured address with the structured address, specifically providing details in the ’Town / city’ and ‘Country / territory’ fields.

Here are the structured address requirements:

Payment parties Town / city field Country / territory field
Beneficiary Optional Optional

Originating Financial Institution

Making payments on behalf of others?

If you’re making any domestic or cross-border payments on behalf of other instructing parties, the Ultimate Debtor information is now included after the /ULTD/ codeword in your existing statement narrative.
