Hong Kong SAR customers: new mandatory alerts beginning 23 MarchLast updated: 9 March 2020 Beginning 23 March 2020, Hong-Kong based customers will begin receiving new email alerts. Bill Payment authorisation alerts and View User Profile alerts will be sent in addition to the existing payment alerts you already receive. To help customers detect unauthorised transactions and access to information made via online banking services, banks in Hong Kong are expected to provide these additional alerts based on the prevailing regulatory guidance. What does this mean for me? In addition to the payment alerts you already receive, two additional alerts will be automatically available beginning 23 March.
You’ll receive this alert if you’re the user providing final authorisation for an outgoing Bill payment on HSBCnet. The alert will trigger when the payment status changes to ‘Received by bank’ or ‘Forward dated instruction received by bank’. You’ll receive this alert when you or a System Administrator in your company views your user profile on HSBCnet. Please note that customers who receive payment alerts via SMS will continue to receive the new alerts via SMS. What do I need to do? These alerts are set up automatically and require no action from you to receive them. You will receive the alerts at the email address or mobile phone number (if applicable) that is registered in your HSBCnet profile. Please review your profile to make sure that your contact information is up-to-date and accurate. Find out more If you have any questions, please contact your local HSBCnet Support Centre. If you would like to opt out of these mandatory alerts, please contact your HSBC representative.
