Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Last updated: 7 April 2020

HSBC is monitoring the coronavirus situation very closely and liaising with government and public health officials.

Be aware fraudsters may try to take advantage during the current period. HSBC will never ask you for any log on or security details, or ask you to generate security codes, over the telephone or through any other method of communication. Please remain vigilant at all times.

What can HSBCnet clients do to ensure business can be carried out as normal?

There are some steps that you can take to ensure business operations can be carried out as normal:

  • Have your own contingency measures in place that allow you to maintain your business operations
  • Keep your HSBCnet Security Device with you so that you can continue to access HSBCnet services from wherever you are
  • If your organisation supports remote working, ensure that your HSBCnet users can log on to HSBCnet from their remote location

If you have any questions, or if we can help in ensuring your business can use HSBCnet as normal, please contact your local HSBCnet Support Centre.

What is HSBC doing to minimise the impact on business?

We continue to monitor the situation and are working closely with government and public health officials. Our priority is the wellbeing of our staff and customers.

We don’t expect any change to the support and services provided to you by HSBC. The size and structure of HSBC allows us to support our clients from multiple sites.

We have well practiced contingency measures that ensure critical processes continue to be maintained, including split-site and home working arrangements. We have also raised awareness among our employees of the need for good personal hygiene.

If we believe there’s a chance our ability to provide normal levels of service should change, we’ll update you accordingly.
