Accounts in Malaysia: new Alias Management service coming to HSBCnet in January 2019

Last updated: 19 November 2018

As previously communicated, we’re updating HSBCnet to support the new DuitNow payments service in Malaysia. PayNet (the DuitNow operator) recently advised us that the DuitNow Pay-to-Proxy service will now be available starting from 9 December 2018.

Starting from 13 January 2019, you’ll also be able to manage your proxy (known on HSBCnet as an alias) through HSBCnet.

How do I manage a proxy for my organisation’s account(s) in Malaysia on HSBCnet?

Starting 13 January 2019, you can register, delink, and deactivate your Business Registration Number (BRN) as your proxy on HSBCnet to receive payments via DuitNow Pay-to-Proxy.

Overview of steps for managing your proxies on HSBCnet:

  1. Assign user permissions for the Alias Management service:
System Administrators must set up user permissions for those individuals responsible for managing aliases (proxies) for your accounts. You can do this via the ‘Alias Management’ link under the General Services section of the Maintain User Access Level screen, where you can give users ‘Prepare’ and ‘Approve’ access.

  2. Manage your proxies:
Users who have the proper permissions (per Step 1 above) can register proxies for your Malaysia-domiciled MYR accounts via the Alias Management service, available under the User and Account Management tab in HSBCnet.

For detailed instructions on how to manage your aliases on HSBCnet, please refer to the Alias Management User Guide in the HSBCnet Help Centre.

Please note: in order for a beneficiary to receive payments using this option, their proxy must be registered with DuitNow ID through a participating bank.
