Switzerland accounts: new QR bill payments available from 30 June

From 30 June 2020, in accordance with local regulations, we’re updating HSBCnet to support the introduction of Switzerland’s new QR bill payments that are being introduced to make paying bills easier.

What’s changing?

Beginning 30 June, you’ll be able to make QR bill payments using HSBCnet. This will be in addition to the existing local Swiss payment slips. To make QR bill payments, you’ll need the following details:

  • QR IBAN and QR reference code; or
  • Standard IBAN and optional Credit reference.

What this means for you

From 30 June, you can create QR bill payments on HSBCnet using:

  1. Payments created in HSBCnet:
    You can submit QR bill payments using the ACH Credit payment type. You will be required to provide the QR bill payment information in the ‘Transactions’ section.
  2. Here’s what the QR bill payment screen will look like:

  3. File Upload or HSBC Connect:
    If you plan to submit QR bill payments using File Upload or HSBC Connect, please contact your HSBC Client Services representative in Switzerland to obtain the file specification requirements in our updated Message Implementation Guide (MIG).
