Qatar account holders: new transaction limit and cut-off time for domestic paymentsLast updated: 3 July 2019 Due to local regulatory changes taking effect on 1 July 2019, we wish to advise you of the below transaction limit and cut-off time changes impacting domestic payments in Qatar. What's changing? From 1 July, the maximum limit for domestic payments processed through the QATCH (Qatar Automated Transfer Clearing House) system will increase from the current Qatari Riyal (QAR) 250,000 to QAR 1 million. In addition, we’re updating the cut-off times for domestic same-day QAR Priority Payments (to other local banks in Qatar) as follows:
For QAR domestic ACH (Automated Clearing House), WPS (Wages Protection System) and Salary Payments, the cut-off times will remain unchanged at 2:00 pm AST. Payments to other local banks in Qatar are processed as of the next day value, while payments to other HSBC Qatar accounts have the same value date. Reminder: Purpose of Payment codes required as of 15 June Please be reminded that you’re required to include a valid Purpose of Payment code from 15 June for all domestic QAR payments processed in Qatar. Any payment instruction that doesn’t include a valid Purpose of Payment code will be rejected. Learn more about Purpose of Payment code requirements in Qatar >
