Customers domiciled in the US: enhanced foreign currency payment services for US accounts

Dear HSBCnet User,

Recently, HSBC Bank USA N,A. (“HSBC”) has enhanced foreign currency services for HSBCnet customers domiciled in the US with US accounts. At the time payment data is input, you can specify an amount denominated in any one of 40 different currencies to over 60 different countries and territories. Also available is the ability to specify the payment amount in a USD equivalent amount (or other base currency amount) using "Or equivalent to" on the Instruction Details page. This capability is applicable for both Get Rate and non-Get Rate transactions and is available for Priority Payments, Inter-account Transfers, and Customer Transfers.

How does this benefit you?
No additional settlement is required to create foreign currency payments from existing USD accounts – USD equivalents are automatically calculated via HSBCnet. In addition, Get Rate users will continue to have access to real-time, market-driven FX rates - prior to authorization - ensuring timely information for their payment needs.

Are there any new reconcilement tools available?
Additional descriptive information is now displayed in the Transaction Details tab for the Payment Advice. In Account Information, the foreign exchange rate will be displayed as "Exchange rate" in the Debit Details. The foreign currency and the foreign amount will be displayed in the "Payment Currency" and "Amount" fields in the Payment and Value Date section. Beneficiary name and address will appear in the Beneficiary details section.  Moreover, detailed transaction information is available on-line, and the details can be customized via Report Writer.

Are there any new currencies available?
Payments in Chinese Renminbi (CNY) have been enabled.

Additional information and assistance with using Get Rate and foreign exchange services can be found within the service Help Text on HSBCnet. For further assistance, please contact your local HSBCnet Support Centre.

Sincerely,

Your HSBCnet team
