We're introducing requests for information to accounts in France

Last updated: 4 March 2024

From late March 2024, requests for information for certain payments debited from HSBC accounts in France will be directed to the HSBCnet Message Centre.

What’s changed?

Previously, you may have been receiving requests for information related to certain payments from accounts located in France via your local HSBC representative. From late March 2024, you will receive and be able to reply to requests for information directly in the HSBCnet Message Centre.

This change applies to Priority Payments originated in HSBCnet for accounts located in France. For all other payments, where there are requests for information from your local HSBC representative, the existing processes will continue to be used.

What this means for you

At the end of March 2024, we’ll automatically provide the ‘Message centre - request for information’ permission to HSBCnet users who have create, authorise or enquiry permissions for payments from accounts located in France except for France accounts that currently already have request for information permissions. In addition, any user that is granted Priority Payment permissions will also automatically receive the Message Centre – request for information permission for the same accounts.

When there is a request for information in the Message Centre, permitted users will automatically be sent an email as well as receive a notification in the Tasks panel in HSBCnet. Users can view and manage these email notifications under ‘Manage my notifications’ in the ‘Alerts’ panel.

Here’s where users can view and action requests for payment information:

We encourage HSBCnet users to regularly review their details to make sure they are up to date and to make any necessary changes, including email address.

What you should know

System Administrators can add or remove the ‘Message centre - request for information’ permission to determine which HSBCnet users can receive and action requests for information. We recommend that System Administrators regularly review HSBCnet users’ permissions and update as needed, making sure that there are at least two users with this permission.

We also recommend that System Administrators notify anyone that’s currently involved in handling requests for information for payments from accounts in France about this upcoming change.

Email notifications help make sure you don't miss important information. We encourage you to keep the 'Request for payment information' email notification enabled so that you're notified as soon as there's a message that requires your attention.
