Upcoming Eid holidays in the Middle East

Last updated: 27 May 2024

With the upcoming Eid holidays in June, it’s important that you pay close attention to cut-off times for payments to or from the Middle East.

What you need to know

We recommend that you complete any time sensitive transactions (such as ACH/WPS salary payments) as early as possible to make sure that they’re completed before the holiday period starts.

Don't wait until the last day before the holiday period starts as most payments in the Middle East will not be processed until business resumes after the holiday.

For questions about specific payment deadlines, visit the 'Payment cut-off times' page in the User Guides portal or contact your local HSBCnet Support Centre.

Stay vigilant to protect your business over the holidays

It’s also possible that fraudulent activity across electronic bank delivery channels such as HSBCnet will increase as online criminals attempt to exploit the extended holiday periods.

During this time, please be extra vigilant in your online activity to make sure that you remain protected. If you experience any of the following events, a fraudulent attack may be underway:

  • You're presented with a security check/verification screen that requires you to wait.
  • You're prompted repeatedly to re-enter your username, password or security code.
  • You're presented with a screen saying HSBCnet is temporarily unavailable and to not log on for some length of time.
  • You see any screens that you think are unusual or are missing information.

If you experience any of these events, please contact your local HSBCnet Support Centre immediately via the Customer Support link at the bottom of HSBCnet pages.
