Important changes to Tax Payments debiting HSBC Italy accounts

Last updated: 3 July 2024

In line with local tax regulations, from 1 July 2024, you can no longer submit Tax Payments from HSBC Italy accounts if the instruction includes credit compensation items (crediti in compensazione).

What this means for you

Tax Payments that contain credit compensation items debiting HSBC Italy accounts that are submitted through ‘Create payment or transfer’ screens and the File Upload service in HSBCnet scheduled for 1 July 2024 and onwards will automatically be rejected. We recommend that you review any scheduled payments and submit alternative payment instructions as required.

Any Italian Tax Payments that contain credit compensation items will need to be submitted through the Italian tax agency service from 1 July 2024.

Please note: HSBC Italy accounts will be not available to select through the Italian tax agency service when submitting payments that contain credit compensation items.
