China accounts: enhanced Balance of Payment details section

From 13 January 2024, the ‘Transaction remarks’ section of HSBCnet ‘Create payment or transfer’ screens will be expanded to capture more detailed Balance of Payment (BOP) information for cross-border Priority Payment and Inter-account Transfers debiting HSBC China accounts.
What this means for you
Currently, the mandatory ‘Transaction remarks’ field for cross-border Priority Payment and Inter-account Transfers debiting HSBC China accounts is a free-input field, requiring manual review during payment processing.
Starting 13 January 2024, the ‘Transaction remarks’ section will be expanded to include drop-down menus and dynamic input fields that capture standardised BOP information to help avoid potential delays in payment processing.
