Malaysia accounts: DuitNow Request coming 19 June 2021

Last updated: 31 May 2021

On 19 June 2021, we’re updating HSBCnet to support the new DuitNow Request that will be available for HSBC accounts in Malaysia. With the DuitNow Request service, you'll be able to receive payment requests directly from your payees.

What this means for you

From 19 June, your payees will be able to send a DuitNow Request directly to you, using either your account number and SWIFT/BIC, or your DuitNow ID.

To view DuitNow Requests in HSBCnet, select the ‘Request for payment’ option from the Payments and transfers section of the HSBCnet menu.

Here’s an example of the Request for Payment screen:

How do I action a DuitNow Request?

Any user with the permissions to create Priority Payments from Malaysia accounts will be able to approve or reject a pending Request for Payment.

Account information and statement reporting

From 19 June, your statement entries in Account information and in reports downloaded using the Reports and files download service will also include the additional DuitNow Request information.

If you use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or automated account reconciliation programs for your electronic statements, you may be impacted. Please review the detailed information about the changes to your statement reporting.
