Client View: recent and upcoming changes to your Securities Services tools

Last updated: 23 November 2020

Client View currently runs on Adobe Flash Technology (a web design language). Adobe have announced that Flash will no longer be supported by web browsers after 2020. As such, we have upgraded Client View from using Adobe Flash to the HTML5 design language.

All Client View tools have been re-designed with a new look and feel, and beginning 12 December 2020, you will no longer be able to access the Adobe Flash screens in Client View.

What’s changing?

All of our Client View tools have been upgraded and are now available in HTML5. The re designed screens offer the following enhanced features:

  1. An updated Client View menu. We’re moving the menu to the top of your screen with clearly labelled tabs to make it easier for you to identify Client View services available to you, making it easier to switch between services.
  2. An intuitive, accessible, and up-to-date design to help you navigate through all Client View tools, including new keyboard support to allow you to ‘search’ for key words.
  3. In addition to the re-designed screen changes, some of your requests will need to be made using the updated Client View tools:
    • Beginning 28 November, any reports downloaded through the Securities Report Writer – Report Repository tool will need to be downloaded through the Report Centre – Reports tool in Client View.
    • Beginning 6 December, any requests made using the Fund Services tool will need to be made using the Fund Administration tool in Client View.
    • Beginning 12 December, as a result of the demise of Flash, the My Dashboards service will no longer be available. The underlying data previously used to create the dashboards is still available from your Client View tools.

What this means for you

You don’t need to do anything to access the re-designed Client View. If you already have permissions for Client View, you’ll automatically have access to the tools in HSBCnet.
