For customers with accounts in Singapore: payments without beneficiary account numbers will be rejected effective 13 November 2017

Effective 13 November 2017, we will no longer accept payment instructions without a beneficiary account number. This requirement applies for the following payments from accounts in Singapore:

  • Telegraphic (wire) transfers / Priority Payments
  • FAST payments
  • GIRO (ACH) payments

What this means for you

Payments submitted through HSBCnet and HSBC Connect without a beneficiary account number will be rejected from 13 November.

What you need to do

Always provide a beneficiary account number, and all other required beneficiary details, when making an electronic payment through HSBCnet and HSBC Connect.

Ahead of 13 November, please make sure that you update your existing templates, Standing Instructions and forward-dated payments to include a beneficiary account number. Any transactions dated from 13 November 2017 that don’t include a beneficiary account number will be rejected.
