New transaction codes for sending US Real-Time Payments

If you currently use ISO20022 XML files to submit payments for US accounts, you will be able to send Real-Time Payments. The below tables indicate the transaction codes that you’ll need to use to make sure that your Real-Time Payments and Priority Payments are sent and processed properly.

The following changes must be made before 18 November:

Location in Outbound File
/Document/pain.001.001.02/PmtInf/PmtTpInf/ClrChanl
Identification of new Real Time Payments
Value in outbound file marked as ‘RTNS’
Current Customer Experience
Payment Processed as a Wire
New Customer Experience effective 18 November 2019
Payment will be processed as a RTP, if qualified via sending to a participant bank. Clients intending to process transactions as a Wire should use code “RTGS”

Payment will be processed as a RTP, if qualified via sending to a participant bank. Clients who wish to process their transaction as a Wire should use code “URGP”
