Malta account holders: Tunisian Dinar (TND) and Thai Bath (THB) currency payments no longer available as of 31 August 2019

Last updated: 1 August 2019

Effective 31 August 2019, HSBCnet will no longer support the Tunisian Dinar (TND) and Thai Bath (THB) currency for payments from accounts in Malta.

What this means for you

From 31 August 2019, the TND and THB currencies won’t be available in the currency drop-down menu on HSBCnet payment screens. This change applies for Priority Payments (including templates) from all debit accounts in Malta.

  • TND and THB currency payments until 31 August:

Payments including TND/THB currency that are value-dated up to 31 August will be processed as normal. TND/THB payments that are forward-dated after 31 August, including Standing Instructions, will be rejected by the system on their value dates.

We recommend that you review your forward-dated payments and templates and update the currency before 31 August, as needed.

  • Payments to Tunisia or Thailand after 31 August:

When sending payments to Tunisia or Thailand after 31 August, you must select another supported currency from the drop-down menu on HSBCnet (such as USD or EUR).
