File Upload service: new daily transaction limit for Pre-Authorised payment files

Last updated: 19 February 2018

As previously communicated, all Pre-Authorised payment files will be subject to File Upload daily transaction limit(s) on HSBCnet. To give you more time to prepare for this change, we’ve extended the effective date to 8 April 2018.

From 8 April, instructions within Pre-Authorised payment files that exceed your organisation’s File Upload daily transaction limit will be rejected.

What are daily transaction limits?

Daily transaction limits on HSBCnet give you the ability to maintain effective controls within your organisation, as well as protect you against unauthorised payment processing. The total sum of your Pre-Authorised payments submitted each day must be below your organisation’s daily transaction limit for File Upload.

What do I need to do?

On 8 April, we recommend that you review your organisation’s daily transaction limits to make sure that your payment instructions fall within the established limit.

If your organisation’s payment files will be impacted by this new limit, an HSBC representative should have already contacted you to prepare for this change. If you’d like to review your new transaction limit to make sure it meets your organisation’s transactional needs, contact your HSBC representative.

Customers in Canada:

This change doesn’t apply to Canadian customers at this time. Before the new daily transaction limit is introduced in Canada, we’ll contact you to advise of the effective date.
