For customers with USD accounts in Canada: deposit US-domiciled cheques using the Remote Deposit Capture service from 11 July

Last updated: 4 July 2018

Starting 11 July 2018, you’ll be able to deposit US cheques from US financial institutions into your Canadian USD account(s) using the Remote Deposit Capture – Canada service (RDC) on HSBCnet.

What do I need to do?

To start depositing your US cheques issued by US financial institutions, contact your Client Services representative as soon as possible, to add your Canadian USD account(s) to the RDC service.

After your account is added, simply feed the cheque into your RDC scanner and select the USD account you would like the funds to be credited to. If you already have your USD account added, you can start depositing your US-domiciled cheques as of 11 July.

Please note the following:

  • The RDC service can now accept USD cheques issued by US and Canadian financial institutions.
  • Non-USD cheque deposits to your Canadian USD account are not possible via the RDC service.
  • There are no software or hardware updates required to use this new functionality.
