Customers with profiles and/or accounts with HSBC Bank Middle East Limited Lebanon (HSBC Lebanon): important changes to your HSBCnet access

Last updated: 17 May 2017

HSBC Bank Middle East Limited has recently entered into an agreement to sell its business operations in Lebanon to BLOM Bank, a Lebanese bank. As a result of this sale, HSBC’s operations in Lebanon will be officially transferred to BLOM Bank at 0:01 on 17 June 2017 (the ‘Transfer Date’). The date is subject to final regulatory approval and may change, in which case we will keep you informed.

What happens to your HSBCnet services going forward?
All of your banking relationships and arrangements with HSBC Lebanon will automatically transfer to BLOM Bank after the Transfer Date. HSBC Lebanon has issued a letter to your organisation advising on the changes to your banking products and services.

Please note the following important dates regarding the impact to your HSBCnet services:

  • As of 16 June 2017, we will be discontinuing all HSBCnet services for your account(s) previously provided by HSBC Lebanon.
  • You will be able to register for BLOM Bank internet services starting 19 June 2017.
  • Payments and Transfers from HSBC Lebanon accounts:
You can continue making transfers and payments from your Lebanese accounts on HSBCnet until the cut-off time on 13 June 2017. HSBC will not process any forward-dated payments or pending transactions that fall after 13 June. We recommend that you complete any necessary payments as soon as possible. You may experience processing delays due to the expected large volume of customer requests during the transition period.
  • Customers in Lebanon:
You will no longer be able to access HSBCnet after the Transfer Date. You can continue transacting on your accounts outside Lebanon until 16 June 2017. Since account information and statements will no longer be available, it is important that you download all statements before the Transfer Date.
  • Customers located outside Lebanon:
Historical statements for your HSBC Lebanon accounts will be available for 180 days after the Transfer Date. We recommend that you review your Standing Instructions and Templates on HSBCnet and update with your new BLOM account details after the Transfer Date.
