Payment Tip: notify your beneficiary of pending payment details with the Advising service on HSBCnet

Last updated: 13 October 2016

Attaching advices to payment instructions on HSBCnet allows you to inform your beneficiaries of pending payment details. With the Advising service, you can attach advice templates on the form used to create payments and templates.

Once you’ve attached an advice to the payment instruction, recipients will receive a system generated email advice. What recipients see on an advice is pertinent information on the email subject line.

Advices dispatched by email include a description of the payment, the advice reference number, and a customer reference number or instruction reference number.

Please note: advices can be dispatched by fax and short message and by postal mail for recipients residing in Asia.

For more information on the Advising service, please review the “Payments User Guide” which is located via the Help icon in the Payments service on HSBCnet. Included in this guide are details relating to the following Advising services:

  • creating and maintaining advice templates;
  • defining advice framework;
  • maintaining dispatched advices;
  • creating and maintaining advice recipients.

If you need additional guidance on using the Advising service, please contact your local HSBCnet Support Centre.
