Switching from masked e-mail advising to encrypted e-mail advising

Switching from masked e-mail advising to encrypted e-mail advising can be done at two different levels.

Please note:  a one-time setup for a SecureMail account is required for each recipient. The e-mail advice can then be retrieved through the SecureMail browser window after inputting a registered User ID and Password

1) Customer ID level

By changing this setting at customer level, all advices originated from the Customer ID will be encrypted. To enable this change, please raise the request to your client service representative.

2) Transaction / Recipient level

a) HSBCnet initiated Payment

You can select “Send encrypted secured mail” when sending an e-mail payment advice for a payment made via HSBCnet. This will overwrite the Customer ID setting and deliver the encrypted e-mail advice to the recipient.

b) Receivables Advices via HSBCnet

You can select “Send encrypted secured mail” in the Receivables Advising’s Recipient Detail screen for each recipient that they would like to receive encrypted email advices instead of the masked version.  This will overwrite the Customer ID setting and deliver the encrypted email advice to the recipient.
